Looking over gardens from loon and Waterville valley to the squam lakes
About Old Man Gardening
In the summer of 2010, Josh Nicolaisen began working as a professional gardener. It was meant to be temporary; he had no idea how in love with plants he would fall. From following the life-cycles of perennial flowers to branching out into the art of pruning flowering shrubs and fruit trees, there was no turning back. After studying beneath a handful of knowledgeable local gardeners, Josh set out on his own. He formed Old Man Gardening LLC in the spring of 2018.
Old Man Gardening is currently looking over properties in Holderness, Plymouth, Campton, Thornton, Lincoln, Woodstock, Sandwich and Wentworth, NH.
In addition to being a gardener, Josh is a published poet. He also taught middle and high school English for twelve years. He spent seven summers as a Caretaker on Church Island, Squam Lake. In the winter, he is an event official for the US Ski and Snowboard Teams, coaches snowboarding at Holderness School, and is the NH Director for the USA Snowboard and Freeski Association.
